We were extremely impressed with Korean Airlines flight into Narita, Japan. The service was immaculate. We felt as if we were flying first class. They treated everyone with kindness and such hospitality with silverware and warm food, wash cloths, and slippers. What service!!!
We arrived in Narita and took a train to Tokyo. The city was teeming with people and bustling with businesses especially restaurants. Not a single piece of trash to be found on the streets nor could you spot the homeless, and public restrooms smelled clean. Now, how to choose delicious food amongst thousands of options before our eyes in Tokyo?
We took a small commercial airplane to Hiroshima. One can still feel the oppression from what took place there in the 1940s. It gave us an opportunity to visit our nephew Paul and to blow the shofar in that area. We had such a pleasant time with him. We went on trains and took a boat ride to Miyajima or we would call it: Deer Island. Many deer would come to you to be fed. We enjoyed the main plaza area, we felt as though we travelled back in time. We also climbed up to the mountain for Mike to blow that shofar.
Our children were so excited about their outdoor vending machines. They got their coffee fix or ramen noodles from them. We even found vending machines in the middle of nowhere or a vacant community would have them too. We found them in the jungle on Okinawa. I will create a different post for Okinawa.
