Community is a group of people coming together to meet certain goals. Meeting with President of the Board, Monica Piedra on Wednesday was enlightening. We learned that this Thrift Shop or “Sacks on the Boulevard” helps raise funds to help them improve their facilities and quality of service by volunteers and the monies go to a great cause: they are committed to provide safety, shelter, and hope to victims of domestic violence.
Monica received us with coffee and doughnuts and lively music as she taught us how the business worked. She puts a lot of time, effort, and love for the work she volunteers so diligently. Monica is a wife, mother to two sons, and a child of Yah, sister to Yshua. She organizes many events for her family, friends, and mishpocah. Blessings to you Monica.
