Our very first time we attended the festival in December 2019. They have had this event since 1992 on the first weekend of December. We were so excited to be amongst “La Raza” as Mexicans would say since we just got back from Kauai, Hawaii. I really missed tamales although I do know how to make them and I will always be biased that my grandma’s tamales are the BEST! Nevertheless, these tamales were delicious in their own right. They did have a few choices with no lard which is difficult to find. I think we need to do our own Tamale stand soon and use my grandma’s recipes.

The other thing we enjoyed about the festival is the live music, we danced to Santana and Maná. That was the icing on top!
