TEXAS 2020

There are trips that Mike and I have yet to complete lead by The Holy Spirit or Ruach Ha Kodesh. But there are many travel restrictions currently due to Covid. We were already heading to South America with other shofar blowers, however, our plans were diverted when we found out that the Foreign Embassy wouldn’t allow American Citizens to enter certain countries. Then we were headed to Mexico City, but our friends whom we were going with, had to cancel at the last minute.  All of a sudden we get McAllen, Texas. We never heard of it to tell you the Truth, but we went anyways. This gave us two days to get ready to travel. We didn’t understand the assignment until we got there. There are many details to this mission and when we are face to face (panim a panim) with other shofar blowers we will share because you will understand. The following will include some details, but mostly it will include the loving people we encountered. I hope you enjoy reading of our 5 day adventure in Texas of 1,423 driven miles in 5 days: Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, McAllen, South Padre Island, Corpus Christi, Houston, and back to Dallas. This is all for HIS glory!  His Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven!

Since we arrived at 6 am on Friday November 20th, our car rental was supposed to be turned in on Tuesday at 6 am but our flight wasn’t until 6 pm that day. They were going to charge us $80 instead of $30 to extend our contract by 1 day. It didn’t make sense so we decided to rent another vehicle with another company. I am sharing this detail because there is a strong reason for this when you get to the end of the story.  Going along with the tale…….We had some delicious Czech pastries near Waco and we prayed and blew shofars over this area for what happened at the Koresh compound. We blew the shofar in Austin and prayed about the incident at the University in 1966. We then headed to San Antonio and again blew shofars by The Alamo. My sister Monica suggested to blow at a specific area here and it confirmed the same area that was taken care of at Austin. For people who are reading this might not consider the importance of the shofar. But let me ask you this: Does your body move with music? Of course it does! It has a frequency, therefore, our shofars carry those that come from above (remember Jericho)! It is Abba Yahua’s frequencies and we are only the vessels to release them. I have a Shofar page on my website if you need further clarification of what a shofar is and where it is mentioned in the Scriptures.

We arrived into McAllen, Texas around 9 pm the same day we arrived in Dallas 11/20.  It would have been a 7 hour 11 min trip, but it took us longer because of the stops that had to be made. We stayed by the border alongside many trucks.   Seven years ago there was no way I would be eating tacos at 10:30 p.m. in a seemingly dangerous looking area. But today, we go where we are lead to.  The tacos were DELICIOUS!!!  I couldn’t understand their menu, I know Spanish but I have never heard of food labeled as: sincronizadas or broncos just to name a few. I had to ask the men who are from the North of Mexico (that explains it) what is on their menu. They were very attentive and we were  aware of our surroundings, but it didn’t deter us from eating some delicious food. They had these mini tostadas with carne asada meat, cheese, jalapenos, and avocadoes.  They served us bean soup and their tortas, the bread….omg as if I had it straight from Mexico. Big tortas for sure almost like cemitas from Tepeaca, Mexico.

The next day we were up early and we headed into town. We went into The Healthy Point and organic cuisine. The ambiance was cute and French style, food made by a Mexican woman whose name is Maricela like me.  I was very impressed with her cooking. I had spinach gorditas made by hand, vegan cheese, their lentil soup that was served without asking for it. The ladies were so friendly, their juices so healthy and delicious my heart and cells were happy.  Mike loved it too!  We felt as if we were eating home cooked meals.  We will definitely come back to this place.

We were then lead to a parade of cars, which got us stuck for a while and this made us make a different turn.  It lead us to a prayer group who were at the corner of a planned parenthood facility.  We got out of the car, talked with a kind man, prayed and they heard the shofar.  We later found out that the long line was for The Trump Train.  We headed into their downtown and I felt that I went back in time to the 1980s in East Lost Angeles on First Street.  Oh my, our paisanos but Texans.  Like Twilight Zone or a parallel universe.

Afterwards we headed to Quinta Mazatlan. This place is a beautiful hacienda and blossomed in its day during the early 1900s.  Mike and I enjoyed learning the history of this place and how this town was started.  Interesting to note that its name is the same name as the city we live in (La Quinta).  We have always enjoyed touring museums because we are history buffs.  Oh where the shofars take us!

Then off to South Padre Island.  We met Silvia at the Visitor’s Center and she convinced us to do a scavenger hunt for Sea Turtle Art.  We were gifted with 2 cool looking t-shirts with a Honu (sea turtle) on it.  We also met a jeweler at the Visitor Center and she gifted us 4 heavy books wrapped in white paper adorned with an orchid and ribbon with Joshua 1:6-9 verse on the leaf of the books.  It was heavy but I couldn’t refuse her gift.  Their names are Alicia and Victor.  For dinner we ate Italian at Gabriela’s, so delicious and they played The Wizard of Oz movie inside.  Odd to see that movie in an Italian Restaurant.  The following morning we got up early to continue the trip and we ate at a coffee shop owned by Madeline and Michael.  Michael is from Maui so we connected on an island level.  Madeline is from Germany.  Such a nice couple who just started this business there.  We finished off the island by blowing the shofars towards the Gulf Coast.  Beautiful sandy beaches and seabirds galore abound there.  We will definitely go back and spend more time here.

Corpus Christi was our next destination and we met with The Reiningers.  They blessed us with lunch and prayers.  We met them on Kauai in 2015.  They were also lead there and then they returned to Texas in Dec. 2016 so for almost 4 years we had not seen each other.  What a blessing it was to see their children Micah and Karis, they are 17 and 20 and they still wanted to see us?  That was awesome!!!  We felt so blessed by their presence.  They took us to the exact location that the shofars needed to be blown.  What a nice time we had with Laura and Randy and their children.  It was time to see one another again and to hear what they are now doing.  Powerful things are happening in Southeast Texas.

We arrived in Houston to see my family.  It has been years since we have seen each other.  The Gascas have always opened their doors to us and we go way back.  The  tostadas de tinga prepared by Gaby were delicious and we truly enjoyed them. The next day Liz prepared us some yummy eggs and beans which we love too, and then we went to see Liz’s son Ulf race Audis. We have that in common for we like Audis too. He is really good at what he does. Afterwards, we had Texas BBQ with Liz and Dominique, my goodness we are returning here!!!  Superb!  We had such a nice time meeting Amber and Lee and seeing my cousins Gaby, Liz, Dominique, Ulf, Vivianne, and Krista. Even though it was fast, it was well worth it!  See you soon!

After blowing the shofar in Woodland, Houston, we headed to Dallas.  It was about a 4 hour drive.  By the time we checked in, we decided to return the car and get the other one for one more day.  To not interrupt our sleep at 5 am, we returned it at 9:55 p.m.  The one working at the car rental told us she was not going to help us because she closed at 10 p.m.  There was a man on the phone in front of us who had been waiting for an hour and another person in front of him going in and out of the line.  The man behind us was on the phone contacting corporate telling them that we all needed our reserved cars.  More people were lining up behind him.  This totaled about 7 different families all in one location at the airport, but no one else was at the other car rental companies.  I thought it was odd and comical at the same time.  People were getting angrier by the minute and tensions were flying;  Mike and I prayed in our heads because angry people can do some crazy things.  We had everything at the hotel except those 4 heavy books that were gifted to me and about 14 water bottles that Mike was carrying.  This was actually odd in itself. The lady who was helping us was Muslim and was very stressed out and angry because she had to go home to her children.  We understood and empathized with her, but all of us were stranded and didn’t have a home to go to.  You see because of Covid, everything is closing up earlier and less resources are there.  The man behind us asked all of us if we all came together we can put extra cash to hand over to her and that is when I said, “Sometimes we have to sacrifice ourselves to help others in need.”  She looked at me and pointed to my direction and took us to the front to help us out.  For some reason she gave us favor and I looked at the books I was carrying and offered them to her as a gift. She almost rejected them until I told her it has Joshua 1:6-9….”Be strong and courageous……” She happily took them.  She also accepted a water bottle when we were offering it to all who were waiting.  In the Spirit, water has such special significance.  That verse Joshua 1:6-9 is the exact same verse given to us by The Riverwinds before we left to Kauai 5 years ago.  I have written about this on another blog under the Spirit Tab if you are interested.  The Muslim woman gave us favor and she only charged us $20 for the car rental and had a huge smile for us.  What in the world? We then understood why the first company charged us $80 so we can reject it then come back to get a car from another company because all of this had to happen.  Abba’s plans are always greater than ours.  We came out of there very hungry so we go get ourselves: Whattaburger!!!  It scores high on our list and now our #3 after In-N-Out and Shake Shack!

We planned on arising at 12pm to check out and catch the flight in the evening, but  because Housekeeping knocked at 7 am and two calls came in after that we were prompted to leave earlier.  We then understood that it was time to get going.  We did some assignments and finally we were lead on The Grassy Knoll two days after the 57th anniversary of JFK’s tragedy.  There were people who phoned us here and amazing things happened at this location before the blowing of the shofar.  We met some joyful and strong believers here; one of them instantly invited us to her ranch in Louisiana to blow the shofar.  We think we will be going there in the near future.  This whole trip we were supported by other reinforcements, they are shofar/trumpet blowers and prayer warriors from Arizona and Pennsylvania.  Their confirmations and prayers were with us during these 5 days. We are still in awe of His wonders!  There are too many details to this trip and it’s best we speak face to face about it.  Shalom! (Thank you Mom for driving to the desert and keeping Michael and Sofia company).
